The Merchant’s House Museum offers Guided Tours and Self-Guided Tours.

Self-Guided House Tour

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday: 1 to 5 p.m.

  • General Admission: $15
  • Seniors (over 65) & Students (with ID): $10
  • Children under 12: FREE
  • MHM Members FREE. Become a member.

  • No reservations for self-guided tours. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

Visitors should plan to spend 45-60 minutes on their self-guided tour.

The Museum comprises five floors accessed by stairs.

Docents are available to answer questions.

  • The Museum accepts cash or credit cards ($20 minimum on all credit card charges).

Groups larger than 10 people MUST schedule a private visit. Read more about Group Tours.

Guided House Tour

Guided tours are approximately 75 minutes.

Tour Policies

  • Reservations are required for the 12 p.m. guided tour.
  • There are no reservations for self-guided visits.
  • Groups of 10 people or more MUST schedule a private visit, booked at least two weeks in advance. Read more about Group Tours.
  • Large bags must be checked. Large bags (suitcases, backpacks, shopping bags, etc.) may not be carried inside the museum, and must be checked at the admissions desk.
  • There is no smoking allowed on Museum property.
  • The Merchant’s House is not air conditioned, and is not wheelchair-accessible. Read more about accessibility.
  • If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or have received a positive COVID-19 diagnosis, you must postpone to a later date, or cancel. The museum will offer to refund or exchange your tickets. Email programs@merchantshouse.org. By visiting the Merchant’s House Museum, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
  • Face masks are recommended but not required.
  • Hand sanitizer stations are located throughout the Museum.
  • Merchant’s House staff and visitors have the right to an environment free from unsafe, threatening, or inappropriate behavior. We reserve the right to deny or revoke entry to anyone not abiding by these guidelines to ensure the safety of our staff and other visitors.
